Book launch with a lecture by the renowned Czech architectural historian Vladimír Šlapeta.
Vladimír Šlapeta, author of several publications on 20th-century modern architecture and urbanism, will focus his lecture on the presentation of the book and the legacy of prominent figures in Ostrava's architecture. The publication "Alphabet, Czech Modern Architecture," of which he is the main editor, follows last year's successful exhibition at the Riding School of Prague Castle and presents to the Czech and international public the most significant icons of Czech architecture realized from the Art Nouveau period to the present day, serving as a guide to the architecture of the Czech and Moravian regions. It contains brief biographies of 120 selected architects, a list of buildings, photographs of the most significant architectural structures, an index, and a directory of buildings. The event is organized in cooperation with the Architecture Week organization.
