Brno - The University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno has a new study and information center. It cost 307 million crowns. The deans of all three faculties, the study department, the Institute of Foreign Languages and the History of Veterinary Medicine, as well as an archive, have found their new home here, the university informed CTK in a press release today. The modern four-story building has risen in the center of the university campus. It is divided into three blocks, with two internal atriums between them. The construction took one and a half years. The basement of the building was relocated to the university archive, which houses archival materials dating back to the 19th century. Next to the depository, there will also be a repository and a reading room. The archive is equipped with a unique sterilization device for the care of archival materials sensitive to temperatures over 60 degrees and high humidity. In South Moravia, only the Moravian Regional Archive in Brno has a similar facility.
