Galerie VI PER invites you to an audio walk in Karlín with Markéta Kinterová, which will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 3:00 PM. The walk is part of the exhibition program Vadí x nevadí: How do children and parents live in Prague? Eyes wide open for the city – from Karlín to Corso. A walk for adults with borrowed headphones. For children of all ages, there will be a parallel workshop led by Viktorie Vítů in the spaces of Galerie VI PER. Duration: 30 min walk + 15 min discussion Meeting point: Galerie VI PER, route towards Corso Karlín and back Are you interested in how to view Corso Karlín and its surroundings in a different way? We will look at these spaces using sight, perceptions of bodily sensations, and hearing. The guiding headphones will be an integral part of the walk for participants, allowing us to focus on the sharpened perception of the city and how it speaks to us. Our body is, in a way, public space, and vice versa. In other words, while present in the city, we provide our bodies to the public and demonstrate our ability to be in public through movement. Public space is not around us. Public space is us. Guided by artist Markéta Kinterová in connection with her authorial book Where the Eyes Go, There the Head, dedicated to the visual overload of public space. Vadí x nevadí when you are small – a workshop for children (of all ages, or small children with parents) led by Viktorie Vítů Duration: 30–45 min We most often perceive our surroundings with our eyes. What happens when we engage our whole body in the perception of the space? And how do we do it? We will trace our own figure on a large paper with a line. Inside, we will draw or write various ideas that come to us while talking about the city.
