Big Bíteš plans a new city park, designed by architect Sendler

Velká Bíteš - Velká Bíteš plans to create a new half-hectare city park. It should also include a natural water biotope, a fire pit, a sledding hill, and a pétanque court. People can meet with the author of the proposal, architect Zdenek Sendler, on March 7 at a public discussion of the project. In the same area, a new nursing home is to be built, along with additional residential development. According to the mayor, the development of the area where the U Stadionu housing estate is located is taking several directions, and there is a lack of a park. Basic landscaping for the relaxation area should begin this year, alongside the construction of engineering networks in the area. "Our wish is that the park could be completed by the end of next year," said Vlček. He noted that progress also depends on the support of the city councilors who will be elected this fall. According to the mayor, the park should be completed no later than 2025, as well as the nursing home.

The total costs for creating the park with trees, shrubs, and lawns are estimated by the city to be over ten million crowns. The park is to include paths and benches, as well as swings and an asphalt track where children can ride scooters, bikes, and rollerblades. There are also plans for basic facilities for refreshments and restrooms.

The land intended for the construction of the nursing home is to be sold to an investor who will ensure the construction and operation of this service for at least 40 years. According to the published project, this is a plot of land with an area of nearly 5,400 square meters. The minimum price per square meter is 1,718 crowns including VAT, as indicated by an expert assessment. The sale is tied to a number of conditions that, according to the mayor, will be enforceable under fairly severe penalties.

The private investor should build upon the project documentation that the city has begun preparing for the new nursing home. An electronic auction is scheduled for March 25. The new nursing home is expected to have 96 beds. It should replace the current city facility, which has 27 places. Velká Bíteš has a population of 5,200.
