Prague - The leadership of Prague 11 disagrees with the construction of the Duo Galaxie residential buildings near the Háje metro station, which the company Thesea plans at the site of the former Galaxie cinema. During today's city council meeting, the mayor of Prague 11, Šárka Zdeňková (HPP11), stated this. Two 72-meter towers with 22 floors are to be built on the site, and the construction intent is now entering the location permit process.
"I consider this project to be extraordinarily grotesque. I would like to assure all citizens and councilors that the council is preparing the strongest comments possible," Zdeňková said at today’s meeting.
She added that she offers assistance to citizens who disagree with the construction in submitting comments. "I recommend to you citizens in the vicinity to carefully monitor the intentions of these investors and especially to submit comments in the proceedings as affected owners. These comments are truly important," she stated. She further mentioned that she reached out to the community of unit owners to ensure that citizens have information about the plan and can participate in the proceedings.
Currently, the land is occupied by the former Galaxie cinema building. The investor Thesea wants to remove the existing structures near the intersection of Opatovská and Arkalycká streets, not far from the eastern exit of the C line metro station at Háje, and build two new residential buildings with 22 floors that will include shops and additional services. A total of 276 apartments are to be created here.
