In Neratov, a community house is being built, and a bridge to Poland will be constructed here as well

Neratov - In Neratov in the Orlické Mountains, the construction of a community house is beginning, which will expand services for tourists. The structure, costing 20 million korunas, will be located near the brewery. In the future, a bridge over the Divoká Orlice should be built nearby. Antonín Nekvinda from the Neratov Association, which has been trying to revive the abandoned settlement with a baroque church known for its glass roof since the early 1990s, told ČTK today. A wooden bridge will be built this year.

"Construction of the community house is starting only in these days; May was quite rainy and we also lost our equipment. Nevertheless, it should be in rough construction by autumn," Nekvinda told ČTK.

The new building is expected to increase accommodation and dining capacities in the mountain village. Neratov is becoming increasingly popular among tourists. Approximately 50 weddings are held annually in the pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. "We only have one pub, which is overloaded. It would be ideal if we could open the community house next year," Nekvinda told ČTK. The one-story building will have a basement, and the attic will be used for accommodation. "The building will be partly masonry with wooden elements. It will also include a hall for about 70 people with facilities," Nekvinda told ČTK. According to him, most of the costs of building the community house will be covered by funds from private donors.

The bridge, costing approximately 1.5 million korunas over the Divoká Orlice, will serve as a new cross-border bridge in the Orlické Mountains after several years. It will be built at the site of the former Jánský bridge. The construction of the bridge falls under the Czech-Polish Ridge Project - Eastern Part, whose bearer is the Euroregion Glacensis, which unites cities and municipalities on both the Czech and Polish sides. The project's goal is to revitalize the Czech-Polish border and support tourism.

"We have selected a company. After the summer, work will begin on the concrete pillars and the adjustment of the banks. The bridge over the Orlici should be completed by October," Nekvinda told ČTK. He stated that the bridge is designed to be able to carry a passenger car if necessary.

Thanks to the new bridge, Neratov will become a crossroads for hiking trails, which is important for the further development not only of Neratov but the entire area. The association is also preparing the repair of the glass roof, which has some leaking areas. It was created ten years ago.
