Brno - Building of the Year 2015 in the South Moravian Region is, among other things, the entrance building of the Punkva Caves in the Moravian Karst. The jury was also impressed by the reconstruction of Zelný Trh in Brno and the wastewater treatment plant in Ivanovice na Hané. This was reported to ČTK by the organizers of the competition from the South Moravian Construction Community. The awards were presented today at the construction fair in Brno to the winners.
The entrance building to the Punkva Caves won together with the administrative-residential complex Sochorova II in Brno in the category of buildings for civic amenities. In the area of residential construction, the new building of the apartment house ANNA on Anenská Street in the center of Brno was successful. The best reconstruction is the complex near Venuše, which is a multifunctional facility above the cellars in Pavlov in the Břeclav region.
"The eleven-member jury selected from 34 submitted construction works based on their functionality, overall concept, architectural value, quality of workmanship, integration into the surroundings, and other special merits," said Robert Hrubeš on behalf of the organizers.
In the category of industrial buildings, the jury was attracted by the Biology Park Brno, where interested companies can find specialized laboratories for biomedicine. Its construction cost 400 million crowns.
