The biggest celebration of modern wooden architecture, the Salon of Wooden Constructions 2015, will celebrate its anniversary. Its jubilee, the tenth edition, which will take place from February 11 to 14, 2015, will present a total of 46 attractive projects not only from the Czech Republic and Slovakia but also from Austria, Norway, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland, and Slovenia.
All these unique buildings are included in the publication ANNUAL OF WOODEN CONSTRUCTIONS 2014, which will be released to the pre-Christmas market on the e-shop www.domesistore.com.
The jubilee 10th edition of the Salon of Wooden Constructions is traditionally the main accompanying program of the Wooden Constructions fair, which takes place from February 11 to 14, 2015. Visitors can admire the projects of all architectural offices that participated in the Salon of Wooden Constructions. Selected projects will then be presented to the public by architects as part of a lecture series named Mosaic of Wooden Constructions. Austrian architect Judith Benzer will share her experiences with her project Summer House in Southern Burgenland, for which she won 1st place in the Wooden Construction of the Year 2012 (HOLZ BAU PREIS 2012). Slovak architect Peter Jurkovič will present the IST Family House project, for which he received the CE.ZA.AR 2014 award in the Family Houses category.
After its Prague premiere, the Salon of Wooden Constructions 2015 will move to the Bratislava Center for Contemporary Architecture and Design Archa. More information about the SALON OF WOODEN CONSTRUCTIONS project can be found at www.salondrevostaveb.cz
The Salon of Wooden Constructions is a non-competitive exhibition of quality modern architecture made of wood. Through exhibitions, lectures, screenings, and specialized literature, it offers a unique opportunity to see in one place the best selection of what has been created in this field over the past year. The exhibition is centered on the Wooden Constructions fair. For the rest of the year, the exhibition is regularly presented in other cities of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Salon of Wooden Constructions is primarily aimed at the general public, seeking to provide the widest possible range of information about the rapidly developing field of wooden buildings. Architects and experts meet here not only from the Czech Republic but from around the world. In recent years, we have had the opportunity to meet architects from Canada, Norway, Austria, Finland, and Belgium. The Czech Chamber of Architects has provided patronage for this exhibition.
