Brno - The Brno council today selected a contractor for the project documentation of a new footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists, which will lead over the busy Jedovnická street. The company PRIS succeeded with the most advantageous bid price of 870,500 crowns excluding tax. The documentation should be available in six months, provided there are no complications during the approval process, said Roman Burián, head of the press center, to ČTK.
The city will subsequently use the documentation for a joint permit. Seven interested parties applied for the public contract. "The offer from the PRIS design office proved to be the most cost-effective," said Mayor Markéta Vaňková (ODS). The company came up with a bid price of 870,500 crowns excluding VAT for the project documentation and 750 crowns excluding VAT per hour for author supervision.
The new footbridge will replace the current crossing. It will be created just above the turn from Jedovnická to Pod Hády street. The goal is to increase the safety of pedestrians and cyclists who have to cross the four-lane road. Construction could begin in spring 2026, with an estimated cost of just under 30 million crowns included in the approved investment plan.
