Brno - The long-delayed restoration of the Tugendhat villa in Brno may begin next year. This was stated today by the mayor's deputy, Ladislav Macek. The Brno council today tasked the investment department with preparing a tender for a construction company that will take on the contract. Its task will also be to secure the project documentation for this work.
The necessary reconstruction has been postponed for years due to disputes over the project documentation. Most recently, the Office for the Protection of Competition ruled that several years old competition to select a designer was not in accordance with the law. It thus revoked its original positive opinion. However, the project documentation from the Omnia association had long been completed, the city had paid for it, and the objections from heritage protectors had also been resolved.
The council addressed the position of the antimonopoly office today by canceling the several years old competition.
