Přerov - The houses on Žerotínovo Square and in Kabelíkova and Československých Letců streets in Přerov can proudly boast of winning the award for the most beautiful facade in the city this year. The winners of the competition, which has been held in Přerov for the sixth time, were announced by the town hall in recent days. The owners of the awarded houses will receive, in addition to the title, a prize of 50,000 crowns. The aim of the competition is to improve the appearance of buildings in the city, said Elena Grambličková (ODS) to ČTK. The competition for the most beautiful facade is announced annually by the city leadership in three categories. This year, the title in the renovation category went to the apartment building at Žerotínovo náměstí 29, among panel houses the winner was building number 18 in Kabelíková street, and among new constructions, the family house number 23 in Československých letců street. This year's competition criteria were met by 47 submitted buildings. "Interest in the competition is growing every year. We have the most submissions in the panel house category. We want to motivate property owners through the competition to improve their appearance not just for themselves, but also for the city to acquire a nicer facade,” said the deputy mayor. The title of Facade of the Year has been awarded in previous years to the owners of the renovated restaurant Pivovar or the new industrial building in Tovačovská street. The winner is decided by a panel of experts. The jury includes representatives from the National Heritage Institute, an art historian, officials, and architects.
