Přerov - The new headquarters of the Přerov police, valued at nearly 400 million crowns, has received its occupancy permit. Approximately 200 employees will gradually move into the six-story building near the exhibition center starting next month. The police plan a ceremonial opening of the building at the beginning of May. The new building will allow people to find many services under one roof. Until now, the police in Přerov operated from six different buildings. Jiří Zlámal, the head of the Přerov police, said this to ČTK today.

"The final occupancy inspection took place on January 22. Of course, as with every such investment project, there are still some unfinished tasks that are currently being resolved. Furniture assembly began last week," he stated.
The first police officers are expected to start moving in by the end of March. At the beginning of May, the police leadership aims to fully operationalize the building. "We will move gradually; it would not be possible to solve everything at once," Zlámal added.
After relocating its employees, the Přerov police will vacate buildings on Smetanova, Komenského, and Hranická streets, as well as on Na hrázi street. The police will return leased buildings, while those owned by the Ministry of the Interior will be sold. The move will be quite challenging. Warehouses and archives will also need to be relocated.
Residents of the city will find the district headquarters, all departments of the criminal police and investigation service, a preventive information group, a weapons department, economic section, human resources department, traffic inspectorate, and the district department from Předmostí all in one location within the new complex. "That's about 200 employees," Zlámal added.
The six-story building was built on the site of a former parking lot at the Přerov exhibition center. Construction took two years. The police leadership expects savings, improved organization of work, and comfort for both themselves and the citizens from relocating their offices to one place.
