Pardubice - The transport terminal in front of the train station in Pardubice will be built by the construction company even during the Christmas holidays, contrary to previous expectations. The busy road that runs around the station will not be affected by the construction. Ivana Nehera from the Strabag company said this today to ČTK.

"A solution has been found; we will not interfere with the main communication, and the corridor for pedestrians will remain roughly unchanged until the end of the year, although it may narrow slightly. If the weather allows, we will not interrupt the work between Christmas and New Year,"
Nehera said.

By Christmas, the sewer system will be half finished; if it is not too cold, construction workers also plan to relocate communication cables. They will soon begin with the base concrete and concrete footings, and the construction will start to rise in height after New Year.

"We need at least five degrees for the communication cables so that we can handle them. The entire backbone distribution runs through here, and we cannot touch it now; otherwise, all of Pardubice would be without internet,"
Nehera said.

The city will build the modern transport hub for 176 million crowns, of which 108 million crowns is to be obtained from Swiss subsidies. However, invoices must be settled by the middle of June next year.

Due to construction restrictions, passengers have access to the station hall only through one route. Buses also do not stop in front of the station. "On some projects, we are delayed by a few days; we are ten days ahead on the bike racks. Within the schedule, we are roughly 24 hours as we planned," Nehera stated.

After completion, there will be a bus terminal in front of the station building, a relaxation zone with a fountain, parking, a bike tower, and a statue of the railway builder and designer Jan Perner.
