Prague - The representatives of the capital city today approved the discussion of the amendment to the zoning plan for the development of a part of the table mountain Vidoule in Prague 5. This marks the beginning of the discussion on the zoning plan amendment. The representatives' decision does not yet mean that the mountain will be built upon, but the office will begin to discuss it. Residents of Prague 5 and some opposition representatives opposed the plan. Opponents and supporters of the development of part of Vidoule attended the meeting. Opposing the amendment was the representative of Prague 5 and the chairman of the Green Party in this district, Lukáš Budín. He stated that the representatives of Prague 5 unanimously disagreed with the change. Other residents of the fifth district also opposed the initiation of the zoning plan amendment. Opposition representative Rudolf Blažek (ODS) sided with the opponents, stating that the area needs improvement but not through a change to the zoning plan. He labeled the plan amendment intention as "a racket". Representatives of landowners who want to develop part of the table mountain and build family houses and sports facilities also attended the meeting. They stood before the representatives with banners. They justified their position by stating that the area is neglected and frequented by drug addicts and homeless people. Mayor Tomáš Hudeček (TOP 09), who presented the material to the representatives, said that initiating the discussion of the amendment does not mean that construction will take place on Vidoule. According to him, it is merely a suggestion. "There is not even a map for this," Hudeček said. He noted that the approval only means "the first selection of suggestions.""It is neither a salami method nor an approval of the zoning plan amendment," said the mayor, emphasizing that the change needs to be developed further and a position must then be taken. As part of the zoning plan changes, the representatives also approved a change near the Roztyly metro station in the South City near the bus terminal. Several residents of Prague 11 also opposed this plan during the meeting.
