Prague - The capital city will repair the Hunger Wall on the Petřín slope. The reconstruction is expected to last about three months and will cost 1.3 million crowns. The municipality will also repair the paved paths in four Prague parks.

"The wall will be repaired in several sections. Historically appropriate materials will be used, including suitable stone, and the construction will be supervised by experts from the state heritage preservation," said Deputy Mayor Jiří Nouza (TOP 09).
The city has also decided to repair all paved paths in four significant Prague parks - in Stromovka, at Vítkov, in Petřín including Kinský Gardens, and in Letná Park. The reconstruction is expected to cost nearly one million crowns.
The Hunger Wall is primarily a sandstone rampart from the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV. It is over two kilometers long and four to eight meters high. The wall features several defensive towers, which today serve as viewpoints. The site is protected as a cultural monument.
