Prague - Prague will renew preparations for a change to the zoning plan that will allow for the reconstruction of the railway station in Bubny. Deputy Mayor Tomáš Hudeček (TOP 09) said this at the city development committee meeting. The discussion of this change was previously interrupted. In addition, Prague is also preparing changes related to Masaryk, Smíchov, and Žižkov freight stations.
"We will continue with the preparation of the change. We have commissioned a study that will propose the use of the area," Hudeček told the councilors. According to Jitka Cvetlerová, the director of the municipal planning department, the preparation was interrupted primarily because investors could not agree on future usage. The city will now begin preparing the change on its own and will negotiate the shape with investors. According to Cvetlerová, one of the investors is proposing that a new concert hall be built in the area.
The construction in Bubny, amounting to tens of billions of crowns, has long been planned by Orco Property Group, which has, however, faced high debt levels in recent years. An office, residential, and commercial complex was to be built on the unused railway land. Near the Orco land, Prominecon Group (formerly Navatyp) also wanted to build, which was recently revealed to have influence from lobbyist Roman Janoušek according to disclosed wiretaps.
