Prague - Prague has announced a tender for an advertising campaign that will remind both residents and tourists of the upcoming anniversary of the city's inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage list. CTK discovered from the city’s website that the campaign will cost approximately one million crowns. The historic center of Prague was included in UNESCO along with Telč and Český Krumlov twenty years ago.

The inscription on the prestigious list is, according to Prague, an important milestone in the history of the protection of the Prague heritage reserve. The interactive campaign is intended to raise awareness of the capital as an extraordinary historical cultural metropolis of Europe, as stated in the tender documentation. The campaign will last for six months, from December until the end of May next year.
Prague, which is the most significant urban heritage reserve in the Czech Republic, was inscribed on the UNESCO list on December 4, 1992. The protected area covers a historic core of 866 hectares, including Prague Castle and Hradčany, Malá Strana including Charles Bridge, the Old Town with Josefov, the New Town, and Vyšehrad.
An exhibition titled World Heritage Sites in the Czech Republic is being held in the Architect's Hall at the Old Town Hall until mid-November to commemorate the anniversary.
