Prague - The Prague 7 municipality will renovate the waterfront from the Holešovice marketplace to the Libeň Bridge. Recreational areas will be created here, and skaters and cyclists will be able to ride along. Lenka Burgerová, the deputy mayor of Prague 7 (Prague 7 for Itself), told ČTK this. The plan has an issued zoning decision, and the project is also ready. The municipality has not yet decided when exactly the renovation of the waterfront will begin. In the future, people should also be able to go further beyond the Libeň Bridge to the park currently under construction by the water.

"We hope that we will strengthen recreational opportunities for residents and create a green belt here," said Burgerová.

Several types of surfaces will be present on the waterfront, including both stone areas and places for relaxation. People will be able to sit on long steps leading to the river that will be built here. Further from the river, there will also be an asphalt path for cyclists or skaters. Pedestrian and cyclist paths will be separated. "In arranging the layout, we wanted them to be separated to prevent conflicts," said Burgerová.

There will be no restaurants or stalls on the waterfront, the only exception being a garden restaurant near the crushing plant. "This is an active flood area, so no buildings can be constructed here," stated the deputy mayor.

From the Libeň Bridge, the path should continue downstream to the so-called spit. A footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists will be built from it, allowing them to reach the currently under-construction park by the water in northern Holešovice.

When the bank modifications will be completed is currently unclear; the municipality is waiting for the issuance of several necessary documents, including a construction permit. The zoning decision and project are complete. "We would like to start as soon as possible," said Burgerová. The costs will still be calculated, and the municipality will negotiate financing with the city hall.
