Prague - Prague 11 plans to build a new town hall. The building is to be constructed on an undeveloped plot near Opatovská Street by the Háje metro station. This was discovered by ČTK from the public EIA database. According to Helena Křovinová from the Prague 11 office, the town hall could obtain a building permit by the end of the year, with construction potentially starting in the middle of next year. According to estimates, the South City will pay 310 million crowns for the new office location. The plan still needs to be approved by the municipal council of the district.

The town hall currently operates from three buildings. "People from a city with 80,000 residents now have to run to three places. Maintaining three buildings is also financially demanding. This is due to the comfort of clients and financial costs," explained the intention by the spokesperson for the eleventh city district, Josef Škvor.
The building should be located on the plot between Opatovská, Bajkonurská, and Tatarkova Streets, which Prague 11 received from the capital city this year. According to plans, the building will have three above-ground floors and dimensions of 108 meters by 40 meters. Its "generous horizontal mass" is intended to contrast with the surrounding high-rise panel buildings.
The ground floor will house reception halls, submission offices, and a bistro, while the rest will contain offices. Architects also plan a dining hall for employees. Visitors and officials will be able to park underground in a parking lot with a capacity of up to 150 cars.
A Town Hall Square with a fountain and greenery is set to be created next to the new building. A footbridge will connect the building to the metro across Bajkonurská Street.
Whether the office will build a new town hall will need to be approved by the district councilors. It is unclear whether this will happen before the autumn municipal elections.
According to the plan, the office could obtain a building permit by the end of the year, and in May the town hall should know the winner of the tender. The construction work will then last about two years.
Prague 7 is also trying to secure a new town hall during the economic crisis. It received an offer from PPF, and the district would pay about 1.3 billion crowns for the land, project, and construction of three administrative buildings. Neocity Towers then approached the town hall with a proposal to sell the Parkhotel. This option would allegedly cost 850 to 950 million crowns.
Last year, Prague 4 rented new headquarters from Medicon, relocating its officials to part of the Budějovická polyclinic. Over 35 years, the firm will receive 1.8 billion crowns.
Prague 1 also considered repairing its buildings. The reconstruction of the building on Vodičkova Street, along with the renovation of the building on V Jámě Street, would cost more than 430 million crowns. However, the councilors ultimately did not approve the reconstruction.
