Prague - A new multipurpose building, which is being prepared for construction by the PPF group in Prague's Vítězné náměstí, is set to begin in spring 2014. It is expected to be completed in autumn 2015. This was reported by ČTK based on documentation submitted for environmental impact assessment (EIA). Other developers also want to build in the area. However, parts of the public do not like the current plans of the builders.

The planned PPF building will have 13,290 square meters of office space. An additional 1,860 square meters are planned for shops and cafés. The project includes 2,629 square meters of public facilities like a library, media library, and lecture halls.
PPF is not the only company attracted by the vacant spaces near "Kulaťák." Two office projects are planned in the area by the company BPD partner, which is controlled by former managers of the mining company Czech Coal, as reported recently by the E15 daily. The Sekyra Group is also preparing a complex of commercial buildings in Dejvická.
However, the developers' plans have sparked opposition from parts of the public, including among the representatives of Prague 6. "Local residents expect improvements in public facilities and quality architecture. Instead, they will walk past uniform glass buildings full of offices. The Prague 6 city hall remains silent about the construction intentions and does not impose any requirements on the developers," stated councilor and member of the Prague 6 urban development commission Antonín Nechvátal (Green Party).
