Pardubice selected a designer for the reconstruction of the summer stadium

Pardubice - Pardubice have chosen a design firm for the reconstruction of the summer stadium and the area of the former slaughterhouse. They will pay 7.6 million crowns for the development of the proposal. This was said to reporters today by Deputy Mayor Helena Dvořáčková (ANO). Two companies entered the competition, the second offer was four million crowns more expensive. The city currently has no construction timeline.

"To be honest, the winning company appealed to us with their price. Both applicants met the very demanding references,"
said the deputy.

The city will sign a contract with JIKA - CZ by the end of the year. The company will also be responsible for architectural oversight. The city hall plans to announce a tender for a construction company next year and obtain a valid building permit. They will take out a loan for the transformation of the entire area, relying on budget funds and also on subsidies, for example from the football association.

"When the actual reconstruction could begin is primarily a question of funds. The city will certainly not be the main investor," said Charvát.

The designers will present a proposal on how to repair the playing field and the western stand. The eastern, northern, and southern stands, reinforced surfaces, and a technical background building are to be new. Next to the stadium, which has a capacity of 4,600 spectators, a training area will be created.

In the area of the former slaughterhouse, the city will build two fields that will be used by sports clubs and the public. Architects will also design a playground and an area for an outdoor cinema and public events. The football field at the summer stadium will meet the parameters for second league matches after reconstruction.

The summer stadium was designed by architect Karel Řepa in the 1930s. The city must preserve and repair the Warriors' Gate and the small stand, which, together with the main stand, became a cultural monument at the behest of local activists. The deputy originally advocated for the demolition of the gate and proposed building a parking lot on the empty site.
