Veselí nad Lužnicí

Veselí nad Lužnicí – The railway station building in Veselí nad Lužnicí will be repaired by the company Avers for the Railway Administration. It won the tender with a price of 42.8 million crowns, and the project limit was 53.5 million CZK. Work will begin in June and last until May 2022. This was announced today in a press release by the spokesman for the Railway Administration (SŽ), Dušan Gavenda.

The interior will be changed; on the first floor, restrooms accessible from the hall will be created, and there will be new commercial spaces as well. The boiler room will be moved to the basement. The construction company will also repair the facade made of exposed brick. "The building will have the sewage, water, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems renewed," the spokesman stated.

The company will also repair the roof, including the truss, and restore the original damaged stucco elements. The builders will also replace the doors. The Railway Administration wants to preserve the historical character of the building, so the windows will be wooden casement types.

In South Bohemia, the Railway Administration is also repairing other stations. This year, it plans to begin the renovation of the train station in Tábor, with estimated costs of 153 million crowns, though the price may change depending on the results of the tender, which the administration plans to announce in the second half of the year. Construction could begin in the fall. The work will take two years. Last June, modernization began at the train station in České Budějovice, which will last two years, with costs amounting to 689 million crowns excluding tax. In March, SŽ began repairing the dispatch building at the train station in Písek. The work costing 54 million crowns will last until July next year.

This year, the Railway Administration will repair ten buildings in the region, compared to 14 last year. The costs will be 700 million, said Jiří Svoboda, the general director of SŽ, to journalists in February.
