Olomouc - The BEA campus, which is gradually being developed on land between the center of Olomouc and the main train station, is set to expand by another five buildings with approximately 15,500 square meters of office space by 2022. The BEA city business residence project is being financed from our own resources and a bank loan, representatives of RCO, the investor of the BEA campus, told reporters today.

"We are building the campus gradually to properly plan its use by expert companies. At this stage, we are creating a modern background for ICT professionals and organizations that provide financial, legal, and other consulting services,” said Eva Kubelková from the administrative firm BCO. According to Kubelková, the construction of the entire BEA campus complex, including the already built part, will cost more than a billion crowns.

Currently, more than 20 companies operate in the BEA campus. Among the largest tenants are TESCO SW and the private Moravian University. The dominant feature of the area is a 74-meter-high tower, which is connected to three low buildings. The investor has abandoned the plan to build a 45-meter-high building named Spiritualia, which sparked a passionate discussion among experts and the public, and whose official permitting process eventually became complicated.

The five new buildings, four of which will be built in a circle, will include offices, a multifunctional hall, underground parking, services, medical practices, and dining facilities. The complex will also feature a square and a relaxation zone with trees and greenery.

According to the government agency CzechInvest, the expansion of the BEA campus will have a positive impact on the region. "By expanding the campus, a significant opportunity arises to retain more qualified employees with university education in the region, who would otherwise leave for other countries,” believes Veronika Pudelová Voltnerová, director of the CzechInvest office in Olomouc.

According to CzechInvest, Olomouc is an attractive location for investors in shared corporate services. They seek locations that are strategically situated in city centers and have the necessary infrastructure. These companies mainly employ linguistically educated university graduates. "However, this potential has not yet been sufficiently utilized in the city due to the lack of available office space of the highest quality,” noted Voltnerová.
