Blansko – The revitalization of the recreational area Palava on the outskirts of Blansko could begin this year. It will cost tens of millions, and Blansko wants to carry it out in phases. The city's spokesperson, Pavla Komárková, stated this on the city's website. In planning the adjustments, the city also relied on a survey completed by residents and other visitors to the recreational area.
"Palava is a place that attracts locals for walks and active leisure year-round. We recognize that the current state needs improvement. We wanted the residents of the city to determine what is most important to them. We will gradually try to fulfill their requests. The total will involve adjustments costing tens of millions of crowns, so we expect to carry them out gradually in phases over the next few years... However, we want to start as early as this year," said the mayor of Blansko, Jiří Crha (ODS).
The approved budget for this year plans for investments of ten million crowns, half of which is tied to grants. Independently of obtaining grants, a workout area will be added this year on the flat land below the minigolf, builders will repair and add play elements and impact surfaces at the children's playground above Myslivna, and new gabion walls with wooden seating areas will be constructed, described Petra Skotáková, head of the city administration and development department.
The modifications will also include the restoration and addition of greenery. The city will have damaged and diseased trees removed and will gradually plant about a hundred new trees. This spring, the edges and upper part of the meadow above Myslivna will be supplemented with hornbeams, oaks, linden trees, maples, and beeches, and in the autumn, invasive black locusts along the cycling path will be replaced with a new row of wild cherry trees.
"We want to approach the modifications comprehensively; they will involve the roads and existing sidewalks, greenery, play elements, the addition of engineering networks, and repairs of buildings owned by the city. There is also preparation for the ongoing addition of lighting, benches, and other furniture, or new lighting for the entire area," Crha stated.
