The situation was complicated by the fact that the winner of the repeated tender withdrew, and the city had to begin negotiations with the second-ranked supplier.
Hradec Králové City Library currently has its main headquarters on Tomková Street in the historic center of the city, and books are stored in a warehouse in Staré Nechanice and must be delivered to readers. The construction of the new library, called the Center for Lifelong Learning, will cost approximately 197 million crowns. The city hall has obtained about 137 million crowns in European grants for the construction.
