Prague - The National Museum is looking for a company to work on the reconstruction project of its historic building. It should also include a design for a tunnel that will connect the main building with the former Federal Assembly (FS) building. Until recently, the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) was situated there, but it has moved to Prague 10. The National Museum took over the FS building. The museum spokesperson Radka Schusterová informed CTK about the announcement of the tender today. Bids can be submitted until August 3. The museum has already called for tenders once. Last autumn, however, at the instigation of the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA), the antitrust office began to investigate it, and the museum subsequently canceled the competition. At that time, the ČKA described the conditions for participation in the tender as discriminatory. Among other things, it objected to the requirement that the project designer must have a liability insurance contract for at least 60 million Czech crowns. The chamber also considered the request for a sworn statement that the supplier's total annual turnover was at least 150 million crowns to be discriminatory.
