Moravská Třebová - Moravská Třebová wants to start and complete the first phase of the renovation of the former Miltra dairy next year. In the future, the site is planned to become a cultural center, but initially, the exteriors will be accessible to the public. The city has received a commitment for a grant of 43 million crowns from the Integrated Regional Operational Program (IROP) for this part of the project, with costs estimated at over 60 million crowns. The city hall plans to announce a supplier competition in the fall, said Mayor Pavel Charvát (ODS) to ČTK.
Some of the buildings will be demolished. "The entire site will be opened up and made accessible; it will be accessible from both the street and the park. Over 50 parking spaces and landscaping will be created. The site will become part of the adjacent park," described Charvát. Extensions, ancillary buildings, the entrance gate, and fencing will disappear, and a tall chimney will become the dominant feature of the area, emphasizing the link to industrial history and serving as a water reservoir for efficient rainwater management. Parking areas will also be available to visitors of the nearby museum, gymnasium, and retirement home.
The future cultural center, called MIZA, will consist of a space in the main production hall with a sawtooth roof. The study considers the construction of a community hall with seating for 250 to 500 people, a cinema for 80 viewers, a new municipal community library, facilities for the museum's depositary, a bar, a café, and other spaces for social life.
The city hall wants to have project documentation prepared for the next phases. Since the costs are estimated at around 200 million crowns, it is looking for grants. The city has owned the abandoned Miltra dairy site since 2020, having purchased it for 11 million crowns.
