International Conference City Under the Lid 2015

The Partnership Foundation, in cooperation with its partners, invites you to the professional international conference City Under the Lid 2015 with the theme Public Space in Planning / Public Space in Transformation. The conference will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the Open Garden of the Partnership Foundation, Údolní 33, Brno.

The conference is primarily intended for representatives of cities, officials, experts, and non-profit organizations.

Interest in public space is not declining. Many cities are beginning to approach the planning of public spaces systematically. Concepts, generics, and strategies for public spaces are being created; Prague has its first Czech manual for the creation of public spaces.
These efforts are increasingly influenced by more experienced and organized civic activities that do not want to wait for plans and strategies; they want to see change here and now. How do we seek a balance in this? How do we want to experience the city differently and how do we want to settle in it permanently? Where are the limits of both approaches and where can these two approaches meet?
