Brno - Covered swimming pools in Brno will undergo repairs during the summer holidays. People will temporarily not be able to swim at the Ponávka pool, at the Lužánky swimming stadium, or at the Rašínova relaxation center, stated the general director of the Starez - Sport company, Martin Mikš, in a press release today.

"All closures are planned to last as short as possible, while also giving visitors the opportunity to use other facilities," Mikš said.

The covered swimming pool Ponávka will be closed from the end of June until the end of October, undergoing extensive repairs amounting to approximately 21 million crowns. "The repairs will primarily include complete insulation of the building, renovation of the changing rooms, replacement of tiles and flooring in the pool hall, and also the replacement of overflow grates," said Tomáš Fiala, investment director of Starez - Sport.

From the beginning of July to the end of August, work will also take place at the City Swimming Stadium Lužánky, which is set for modernization costing 4.5 million crowns. The plan includes replacing part of the piping, restoring the facade, replacing windows in the vestibule, replacing doors to the stands, insulating the ceiling in the gym, and upgrading the sound system.

In July, repairs will limit operations at the Rašínova Spa and Relaxation Center. A renovation of the sauna, lighting, elevator, and security of the facility is planned for 1.2 million crowns.

For example, the Aquapark Kohoutovice will remain open, where people can swim both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor swimming is available at the Riviéra swimming pool or the swimming pools in Starý Lískovec, Královo Pole, Zábrdovice, or Juliánov. The Biotop area in the Brno-Jih district attracts visitors with its natural swimming pool.
