Krnov

Krnov - The Krnov city hall will have a city architect. This was decided by the city council. The city leadership wants to find an external collaborator through a selection process. The architect is expected to start working for the city by the middle of this year. Dita Círová, the city spokesperson, said this today to ČTK.

"The city architect will focus on consulting and advisory activities in the areas of architecture, urbanism, spatial planning, environmental issues, and heritage care," said Deputy Mayor Michal Brunclík. He expects that he will collaborate with councilors and officials on the urban and architectural development of the city, on the creation of public spaces, and on the preparation and administration of architectural and urban competitions. He should also influence the creation of the strategic plan.

The architect should be selected through the procurement process. The city will sign a contract with him for an indefinite period. Over four years, his services are expected to cost the city one million crowns. Applicants should have education and experience in the field of architecture, be familiar with spatial planning and construction law, and a condition for participation in the selection process will be the submission of samples of their designs and successful implementations. "He will also have to present his vision of the urban and architectural development of Krnov," said councilor Pavla Löwenthalová.

Krnov has not had a city architect so far. However, there is an eleven-member commission for architectural and urban development working with the city council, which includes four architects.
