Prague - For the first time this year, interested parties can visit Kramář's Villa in Prague, which serves as the residence of Czech Prime Ministers. Starting today, the government office will regularly open it to the public every Saturday until October, and it will also be open to visitors on Sunday, May 20, during the Open House architectural festival, as well as on public holidays, July 6, October 28, and November 17.

"The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic continues its commitment to openness and accessibility of historical palaces under its management," said government spokesperson Barbora Peterová regarding the regular opening of the villa.

According to her, tours will take place in organized groups from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Exceptions will be the Saturdays of July 7 and October 27, when the open house at the villa will not occur due to a previous or upcoming public holiday when the villa will be open.

Visitors will not only enter the house during the tours, but will also have the chance to explore the gardens. Guides will inform them about the lives of the villa's first owners, Czechoslovak Prime Minister Karel Kramář and his wife Naděžda, as well as the history and present of the building from 1915.

The villa was built on an old bastion and has over 50 rooms. After the deaths of the Kramář couple, the property passed into the ownership of the Society of Dr. Karel Kramář, which leased it to the National Gallery. The property was later taken over by the National Museum and in 1952 came under the management of the Office of the Presidency of the Government, which used it for representation purposes and accommodation of state visits. Since 1998, the villa has served as the residence of Czech Prime Ministers.
