On the occasion of the unfulfilled 90th birthday of architect Karla Hubáčka, we took the liberty, in collaboration with Mr. Lomič, a dramaturg, curator, and projector of the Máj cinema in Doksy, to organize another meeting of architects, technicians, and other people. On February 22, 2014, throughout the afternoon until the evening hours, not only will films be screened, but we will also discuss with former collaborators of architect Karel Hubáček. Why precisely at the Máj cinema in Doksy? The cinema was opened in 1963. The architectural design was created by architect Karel Hubáček, and the interior was designed by architects Lidmila Švarcová and Otakar Binar. From March, the cinema will be renovated, and it can be expected that the original atmosphere of the cinema will fall victim to energy-saving measures. So we have the last opportunity, not only to remember architect Hubáček but to also experience the atmosphere of the time when the cinema was established while watching the film Černý Petr.
