Hradec Králové - The city of Hradec Králové will announce a tender in the coming weeks for the preparation of a project for a new football stadium in Malšovice. The winner will prepare complete project documentation for zoning approval, building permits, and construction execution. The value of the contract is estimated at five million crowns. Jindřich Vedlich, the deputy mayor, said this today to ČTK. The current outdated stadium in Malšovice is home to FC Hradec Králové, which has been relegated to the second league this year. The new football arena is expected to have a capacity of 10,000 spectators. It will be built in phases on the site of the current stadium. The estimated costs for the entire stadium after all phases are approximately 400 million crowns. If everything goes smoothly, it could be possible to play in the new stadium in 2018, said city representatives earlier. The winner for the preparation of the documentation will have as a basis the feasibility study for the new stadium, prepared by architect Tomáš Vymetálek, and documents from the previous zoning decision for the stadium construction from 2007. "It will also be possible to use the valid demolition decision from the previous project with the company ECE. The western embankment will be removed, and in its place, a new main grandstand and parking lot will be created, which could be financed from European sources," Vedlich stated. The main criterion for the competition to prepare the documentation will be the price, weighted at 60%. The time for processing the documentation for zoning approval will weigh 30%, and ten percent will be the time to complete the entire project. The main burden of financing the stadium will lie with the city. Originally, the city was to finance the stadium mainly from the sale of land for a shopping center to the company ECE for 259 million crowns. However, ECE withdrew from the project, and the city decided to build the stadium itself.
