Dobříš (Příbramsko) - Dobříš in the Příbram region is planning the reconstruction of Komenského Square. The work is expected to start next year with the renewal of engineering networks. One of the goals is to make the square more attractive and to calm traffic in this area, said Mayor Stanislav Vacek (STAN) to ČTK today.

The city wants to discuss the planned changes with the public. The square is to be newly paved and there will be more greenery in it. On the other hand, the number of parking spaces will decrease. The cost of the work will only become clear once the project, which is still being prepared, is ready.

According to Vacek, the town hall is also negotiating the purchase of land with a non-functional fountain, where the statue of the victims of the First World War could be relocated. "It would create a quiet place there, where there would also be a statue for the victims of the First World War, which has already been moved twice. It would return almost to its original place," said the mayor.

The city also plans modifications to Mírové Square - it wants to build bus stops on the main road towards Příbram Street. At the same time, it plans to create a space for public events near the town hall.
