Plzeň - By the end of 2015, Plzeň must have a new zoning plan. This follows from the new construction law, which requires municipalities with zoning plans approved before January 2007 to amend them. Proposals to be considered must be submitted by citizens and organizations no later than January 31, 2011, said Zdeňka Kubalová, spokesperson for the city hall, to ČTK.
"Plzeň has had a zoning plan since the autumn of 1995. We regularly update this document in the form of amendments every two years. Now, the revision process begins, which will consider changes in the construction law and also incorporate suggestions for changes that arise from citizens and organizations," said Jiří Balihar from the building administration department of the city hall. In order for the department to take suggestions into account, they must be provided on the prescribed form by the end of January 2011.
The zoning plan of the city of Plzeň is a document that, in accordance with the basic urban planning concept of the city, the transportation system, technical infrastructure, and ecological stability, responds to current socio-economic conditions, ownership relations, and other factors. It divides the city's territory into areas and plots and determines the possibilities for their functional use. These are defined in the regulations for the relevant type of area and plot. "For each plot in Plzeň, it is thus possible to define the basic possibilities of its use," the spokesperson stated. The current version of the zoning plan, which has both text and graphic parts, has been effective since November 1 of this year.
