Brno - Brno is planning three major investment projects in the Pisárky district over the next few years, totaling one billion crowns. It aims to build a parking garage with 800 spaces, a cable car from Hlinky Street to the university campus, and a tram loop. The city council has approved the investment plan that includes these three structures, said the mayor's deputy Richard Mrázek (ANO) to journalists.

The council has included the projects in the operational investment plan, which can be co-financed by European subsidies. "These are three projects that are operationally and realizationally independent from one another, but their joint pre-project and project preparation is necessary because we are operating in one area, and the coordination of these three projects is required," Mrázek stated.

The estimated investment costs for the parking garage are over 380 million crowns, and the transport connection is expected to be on Lipová Street. It should be located at the entrance from the D1 highway. It is intended to connect with public transport. The parking garage should also be usable for the needs of trade fairs in Brno.

The cable car is expected to cost over 430 million crowns. Its goal is to speed up transport services around the university campus and the planned athletic hall and transport terminal in front of the Faculty Hospital in Brno. The cable car should consist of cabins for eight people, with a transport capacity of 200 people per hour and a travel time of five minutes. The tram loop should complement everything for more than 190 million crowns.
