Brno – People heading from Brno's Nádražní street to Denisovy sady park, to the terraces below Petrov, or just to Bašty street now have a shorter path. The city's public greenery in Brno officially opened the staircase that connects Nádražní and Bašty streets today. The project documentation was prepared by Architects Hrůša and Co. Atelier Brno.
During the construction, it was necessary, among other things, to reroute cables and move two distribution cabinets. "Therefore, a separate occupancy permit from the Railway Authority in Olomouc was required," said Marie Slavíková from the public greenery of the city of Brno, under which the construction fell. The construction of the staircase with stone steps and steel railings cost approximately five million crowns, funded by Brno from its budget.
A similar connection between Nádražní and Bašty streets had been noticeably missing. This was evidenced by the worn path on the steep slope that people used to shorten their way. Although the staircase was completed back in mid-December, it had been closed to the public until now due to incomplete occupancy approval. The occupancy decision became legally valid on Monday.
