Prague - The Prague district of Březiněves aims to build a new primary school for 540 children. An architectural study has been completed, and currently, the district is looking for a contractor for the project documentation. The estimated cost of the contract is 19 million crowns excluding VAT, and the school is expected to be completed by the end of July 2021. Interested parties can submit proposals until October 21, as stated in the public procurement bulletin.

The school will be located on the future School Street, next to the football fields, near K Březince Street and Nad Hřištěm Street. The building is designed to accommodate nine grades, with two classes for each grade. Additionally, according to the architectural study, there will be an after-school club with six sections for 180 children and space for a school club that can hold 30 children. The complex will also include a cafeteria for 150 diners, a gymnasium, an outdoor playground for physical education classes, and an area for gardening activities.

The building is planned to be constructed with respect to ecological trends. For instance, it is expected that rainwater from the roofs and paved areas of the complex will be used for flushing toilets and watering greenery.

The plan includes building 61 parking spaces at the school. The district also wants to enhance the surrounding area. On K Březince Street, there will be longitudinal parking with 16 spaces, most of which will be designated for residents. A cycling route will also be created nearby.

Currently, there is only a kindergarten in Březiněves. Older children are zoned to Ďáblická School in the neighboring district.

Březiněves is located on the northern edge of Prague, covering an area of approximately 339 hectares. About 1,600 people live there.
