Blansko

Blansko - Blansko will likely offer developers 38,000 square meters for new construction on the Svitava riverbank as early as March. On these parcels owned by the city are the greenhouses of the agricultural company Zera Rájec. According to the city council's plans, they should be replaced by a facility featuring clothing stores, sporting goods, and possibly equipment for DIY enthusiasts. Jiří Crha (ČSSD), the deputy mayor of Blansko, told ČTK today that he expects interest in the land.

Blansko has over 21,000 inhabitants and already has five supermarkets. According to Crha, the city council is therefore not interested in stores of this type. He added that they could only agree to the construction of another supermarket in extreme cases, if the investor also created a passage with space for additional shops in the building.
The city administration would like to find an investor for the project by summer. They could earn around 30 to 35 million crowns from the sale of the land. They want to invest this into the development of Blansko. The city hall plans to improve the Svitava riverbank, creating a relaxation zone.
Crha emphasized that the investor must negotiate with the owner of the greenhouses on how to deal with these structures. According to the deputy mayor, this could slightly reduce the expected profit from the sale.
