The study of architecture at ČVUT has placed in the QS Rankings university ranking. In the category of Architecture and the Built Environment, the Prague University of Technology shares a position with the Brno University of Technology.
QS World University Rankings is the most popular source for choosing studies worldwide. Along with the Shanghai Ranking and Times Higher Education, it is considered the most prestigious international evaluation. The top ten includes universities with which the Faculty of Architecture of ČVUT has long collaborated – TU Delft, ETH Zurich, or Politecnico di Milano.
Architecture at ČVUT, encompassing education at the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, last appeared in the QS Ranking in 2017. The return among the 240 best architecture schools is thus the first success of the new leadership of the faculty, which aims to further develop the school towards international cooperation, internationalization, and connecting education with practice.
"We, along with VUT, are in good company among the best architecture schools in the world, and we will work to reach the top 50. We must strengthen our reputation in both the Czech and foreign academic and professional communities and focus on the area of publishing and citation. It will be a challenge, but I believe we are on the right track," says Dalibor Hlaváček, dean of the Faculty of Architecture at ČVUT.
The ranking has been processed by the consulting company QS since 2004. It evaluates based on criteria such as academic reputation, employer reputation, number of citations, international staff, and students.
