Kralupy nad Vltavou - the town hall of Kralupy nad Vltavou will soon move to a new location in the renovated department store Máj.
The new town hall will be located in the city center at Palackého náměstí, between the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Wenceslas, the Municipal Public Library, the Financial Office, and the "Perla" department store.
The demolition of part of the old department store building from the 1970s will expand the square area and create a suitable forecourt for the town hall. The citizens of the town will be particularly pleased by the fact that all departments of the office will be under one roof, and they will also appreciate the barrier-free access to the building. The current division of the office into three different buildings, only one of which belongs to the city, was one of the main reasons for the adaptation. In the basement of the building, there will be garages for employees and visitors to the office, along with necessary technical facilities. On the ground floor, visitors will find Prague Point and departments requiring increased contact with the public. The second floor will house departments with lower foot traffic, and the third floor will accommodate departments that are not expected to see much visitor traffic; among other things, the self-government is located here. In the last recessed floor, a wedding ceremony hall is planned, which can also be used as a large meeting room. The connection with the city is highlighted by the unobstructed view from the extensive roof terrace. The ceremony hall is also intended for smaller social events.
The proposal is authored by the Prague architectural office RH-ARCH, and the general contractor for the construction is the Liberec company Syner.
By the end of the year, the construction should be completed and the office moved, so it can fully operate at the new address starting in 2014.
