In the town of Faaborg in southern Denmark, new seaside baths are set to be built at the harbor. The winning competition design comes from the Belgian studio JDS Architects, which collaborated with KLAR Arkitekter, CREO Architects, and the Danish engineers Sloth-Møller. The authors created an open spa landscape with a trio of arms extending from the harbor. The new swimming area in Faaborg harbor will offer, in addition to ramps, sun loungers, and swimming pools, a sauna, a changing room, and an observation platform. The bathing area is intended to serve a range of different water sports and as a docking area for smaller boats. The design resembles a harbor bathing area or yachting club, which JDS designed seven years ago together with Bjarke Ingels in Copenhagen.
