Dominique Perrault Architecture

The tallest building in Austria measures 250 meters. "DC Tower 1" comes from the studio of French architect Dominique Perrault. Completed in 2013, this building is one of the tallest in Europe. In "Donau City", an area between the Danube and its old river arm, there is an urban district covering 18.5 hectares with its own character. It is marked by high-rise buildings, modern architecture of residential and administrative buildings, also intended for conferences and headquarters of international organizations such as the UN.

Construction of "DC Tower 1" began in 2010. This quarter-kilometer tall building has 60 floors. Not only its height but also its significantly "cracked" façade and dark color characterize the tallest building in Vienna. It will house, among other things, a hotel, offices, a fitness center, a banquet hall, restaurants, and of course a sky bar. A metro ride from the historic landmark of St. Stephen's Cathedral to the new landmark takes 10 minutes. "DC Tower 1" will be accompanied by a 168-meter tall "partner." High-rise buildings are predominantly situated in Vienna in the areas of "Donau City" and "Wienerberg City".

The magical two hundred and historical buildings
Higher than this building is in Vienna only the observation tower with a café and restaurant "Donauturm" (Danube Tower), measuring 252 meters. The historical landmarks of the city, the tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral reaches a height of 137 meters, from the giant Ferris wheel "Wiener Riesenrad" in the Prater, Vienna can be seen from almost 65 meters and the tower of Vienna City Hall rises to 105 meters.
