The Japanese architect Toyo Ito took on the adaptation of the ground floor of Mies's Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. In the following three months (07.06 - 03.10.2006), his white undulating landscape will be part of the exhibition ”Berlin-Tokyo/Tokyo-Berlin“ showcasing the art of these two metropolises. Curator Carson Chan approached Toyo Ito, who filled the geometrically strict and symmetrical lobby space with an undulating wooden floor.
