Mario Botta

Swiss architect Mario Botta, who is the author of the brick Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, gently protested against the winning project for the museum's expansion by the Norwegian office Snøhetta. At the same time, he refused to comment on the object of the extension itself, which slightly overshadows his structure and stretches across the entire block from Hower Street to Minna Street.
He further told the San Francisco Chronicle that he is, of course, saddened by the removal of the central staircase, which significantly completes the central atrium of the entire museum. He also regrets not being invited to the competition to present his own design and does not feel called to make any hasty conclusions regarding the winning project by Snøhetta.
