The congress center in Hanoi by gmp

On the occasion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Forum (APEC), the National Conference Center (NCC) was officially opened in Vietnam on November 19, 2006, designed by the German office von Gerkan, Marg und Partner. The conference center, located in a vast park next to a hotel and a museum, "thematically and symbolically relates to Vietnamese tradition and culture". In front of the NCC lies a fountain square used for ceremonial occasions and public events. The square is flanked by a series of flagpoles and two water reservoirs on the eastern and western sides. A palm grove on the southern side marks the main entrance and axis. The undulating concrete roof guides visitors along the foyer. Above the congress hall, "the wave rises to a great height." The builder of the conference center, covering an area of 65,000 m², was the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Link>
