Stockholm - Hotel Treehotel (Hotel in the Trees) near the Swedish town of Luleå features very unconventional rooms. One of them is hidden in a futuristic-looking mirror cube suspended between trees, blending almost perfectly with the surrounding landscape.
The tree hotel near the village of Harads offers five rooms, each a separate structure. For example, the room called The Bird's Nest truly resembles a giant bird's nest, and the room The UFO takes the shape of a flying saucer. Each apartment was created in collaboration with leading Scandinavian architects.
However, according to the website of The Daily Telegraph, the most architecturally interesting room is called The Mirrorcube. From the outside, it is a cube with a side length of four meters, covered in mirrors. The work by the architectural studio Tham & Videgard reflects its surroundings, thereby blending in with it.
The difficult visibility of the structure from certain angles posed a danger to birds. To prevent them from flying into the cube, the designers covered its walls with an infrared coating that is invisible to the human eye but can be seen very well by birds.
