ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE, September 5 - September 29, 2005, South Bohemian Scientific Library, 2nd floor, Lidická 1

An exceptional exhibition starting on Monday in České Budějovice will introduce visitors to ecological housing, using straw and clay as building materials, and ways to save water. It will also advise interested individuals on how to optimally arrange the internal and external spaces of a home. It will offer people options for building with minimal negative impact on the environment, said Pavel Hrubý from the Rosa Society, which co-organizes the exhibition. Part of the exhibition Harmony, Ecology, Economy in Housing is dedicated to practical demonstrations of building elements. Visitors will also find information on energy management, right up to living in houses with absolutely minimal energy consumption. "We have known how to build such a house for a long time. With rising energy and transport prices, these eco-friendly technologies will increasingly come into play," said Hrubý. The first day of the exhibition will be accompanied by a lecture on eco-houses. The exhibition at the South Bohemian Scientific Library will last until September 29. It will be open every working day, from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
