Exhibition The Work of Adolf Loos in Photographs by Walter Zednicek

The exhibition The Work of Adolf Loos in the Photographs of Walter Zednicek was presented in October and November as part of the Czech-Austrian Cultural Autumn Brno 2008, and is now moving to Prague. It will be on display at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague starting Wednesday, December 10, when its opening will take place. It begins at 6 PM.
The exhibition of color photographs by Walter Zednicek presents more than 30 realizations (buildings, interiors, and designs) by the Brno native, a classic of modern architecture and a leading figure of architectural purism, Adolf Loos.
Viennese photographer Walter Zednicek has been dealing with Viennese architecture of the early 20th century for many years. He attempts to photograph buildings from this period as they were designed by the great architects of the time, including incorporating the structures into their surroundings. Zednicek often succeeds in obtaining permission from current owners to take pictures of interiors, so those who view his photographs, exhibitions, and books are given glimpses that remain typically hidden from the ordinary architecture enthusiast. Over the years, Walter Zednicek has become the author of books and exhibitions about Adolf Loos, as well as about Otto Wagner and Josef Hoffmann.
The exhibition The Work of Adolf Loos in the Photographs of Walter Zednicek will last at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague until January 30, 2009. It will be accessible from Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 2 PM to 4 PM.
