Unique collection of more than 150 models of buildings by the legendary architect Le Corbusier will be presented at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University. It will be complemented by an exhibition of photographs, guided tours, and two lecture evenings.
The traveling exhibition includes both realized and unrealized projects, the models of which were created in the studio RT+Q Architects. They were created by interns before starting at this studio. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of photographs by Petr Vorlík, Petr Šmídka, Tomáš Klanc, Nina Bartošová, and Martin Hora from their personal travels to Le Corbusier's buildings. Drawings from students who regularly participate in workshops at the Dominican monastery La Tourette in France, as part of the studio teaching ZAN by Brožová, Hůrka, and Šrámek, will also be showcased.
As part of the accompanying program, visitors can look forward to a guided tour of the exhibition with architectural historian Rostislav Švácha and two lecture evenings that will shed light on the international environment of the architect's Paris studio, the links of his work in Slovak and Czech architecture, and the role of women, especially Jane Drew, in proximity to Le Corbusier. In the library of the FA, there will be an extensive collection of publications from the faculty's funds and a digital archive of NTK Le Corbusier – Plans and ARTSTOR with more than 38,000 items of notes, sketches, drawings, and photographs.
